Overview
StudyIn ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the StudyIn app ("the App").
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any personally identifiable information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or any social media profile information. No account creation is required to use the App.
Anonymous Authentication
The App uses anonymous authentication provided by Google Firebase. When you first open the App, Firebase automatically assigns a random anonymous identifier to your session. This identifier cannot be used to identify you as a real person and is not linked to any personal information.
Information We Store
To provide the App's core features we store the following information associated with your anonymous identifier:Study session history including session lengths and completion status
Quiz progress including which topics have been studied and mastery levels reached
Anonymous usage statistics including total sessions completed, quizzes taken, and study time
App settings and preferences such as selected study mode and blocked app configurationsThis information is stored securely using Google Firebase Firestore and is used solely to provide and improve the App's functionality.
App Blocking
The App uses Apple's Family Controls framework to block and unblock apps you select during study sessions. The list of apps you choose to block is stored locally on your device and in your anonymous profile. We do not have access to the names of apps you block and this information is never transmitted to our servers in a form that could identify you.
Third Party Services
The App uses the following third party services:
Google Firebase — used for anonymous authentication and secure data storage. Firebase may collect certain diagnostic and analytics data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Anthropic Claude API — used to generate quiz questions on demand. When AI question generation is triggered, the subject and topic you selected are sent to Anthropic's servers to generate questions. No personal information is included in these requests. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
Data Retention
Your anonymous data is retained for as long as you use the App. If you delete the App your local data is removed from your device. Your anonymous Firebase data may persist on our servers for up to 90 days after your last session before being automatically deleted.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for students and may be used by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone. Since no personal information is collected at any point the App is safe for use by all age groups.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal information there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have questions about your anonymous data you may contact us and we will assist you in understanding what is stored.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
